This Peach Ice Cream is naturally dairy-free and can be whipped up in just minutes, when you start with frozen peaches. It’s a quick & refreshing summer treat!
This peach ice cream was inspired by a peach farm my family used to visit when we lived in Georgia. After collecting some freshly picked peaches, my parents would treat us to their house-made peach ice cream, and it was, by far, my favorite part of the whole visit.
While my recipe doesn’t taste exactly like the farm-fresh version, it does get bonus points for being incredibly fast to prepare. It’s ready to eat in just minutes!
Why You’ll Love It
- It’s a healthy dessert. This peach ice cream is naturally sweetened with maple syrup, and you don’t need much, since the peaches are sweet already. It also skips the heavy cream and refined sugar found in most ice cream recipes.
- It’s dairy-free. If you don’t tolerate milk products well, this ice cream is for you.
- It’s vegan & Paleo friendly. Perfect for those following a special diet!
- It’s fast. You can’t make ice cream any faster than this. It’s ready to eat straight from the food processor, in just about 5 minutes.
- It’s flexible. Don’t have coconut milk on hand? You can use another type of milk (dairy or non-dairy!), and you can even use a different variety of fruit, if you’d like! Water even works, instead of milk, for a fruit sorbet, instead.
How to Make Peach Ice Cream
1. Combine the ingredients. You’ll need to add frozen peaches, coconut milk, and maple syrup to a large food processor (I use a 12-cup model).
2. Process. Let the food processor run until the peaches are totally broken down and creamy, about 2 minutes or so. Stop and scrape down the sides, as needed, to keep everything blending smoothly.
Taste the mixture, and add a squeeze of lemon juice if you’d like to brighten up the flavor. (This will vary based on the flavor of the peaches each time.)
3. Enjoy! You can serve this right away, for an “instant” soft serve ice cream. Or, transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for 2 to 4 hours, for a more scoop-able consistency.
This ice cream will freeze solid if you store it in the freezer overnight, so be sure to let it soften up at room temperature for 15 minutes or so, before serving again.
You can store homemade ice cream in the freezer for up to 3 months, but I bet you’ll eat it all before then!
Instant Peach Ice Cream
Equipment
Ingredients
- 16 ounces frozen peaches
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- In a large food processor fitted with an "S" blade, add the frozen peaches, coconut milk, and maple syrup. Process until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides, if necessary. Taste the ice cream, and add the lemon juice if you need to brighten up the flavor. (This isn't always necessary, depeding on how the peaches taste.)
- Serve the ice cream right away for a soft serve consistency, or transfer it to an airtight container in the freezer to freeze for 2 to 4 hours. This will give you a more scoop-able consistency.
- The peach ice cream can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. It will freeze very solid overnight, so to serve again, be sure to let it sit at room temperature for at least 15 mintues to help it soften up.

Update Note: This recipe was updated in August 2021 to be vegan, with new photos. The original recipe called for 3 tablespoons of honey, and I replaced that with a 1/4 cup of maple syrup instead. The rest of the recipe hasn’t changed.
If you try this Peach Ice Cream, please leave a comment below letting me know how you like it. And if you make any changes, I’d love to hear about those, too!

Reader Feedback: Which ice cream flavor would you like to see next?
Just a perfect receipe for summer time! As I am found of fresh sorbet I do mine with fruits (my favorite at the moment is melon) and coconut water! Absolutely addictive! A good alternative to the creamy coconut milk version 😉
I used kiwis for this recipe with coconut milk and a tablespoon of green tea matcha powder……bangin!!!
Wow, this is fabulous! Of course, I just finished off the last of our peaches, but this looks like it’s worth a trip to the store!
I have to say one of my weaknesses is patience. Waiting for my four year to put her shoes on for example. This instant peach ice cream is right up my alley. I can eat it in minutes, no wait time. Perfect!
I might have to try this with blueberries and figs. My new favorite smoothie combo!
I miss the days where I was oblivious to the metabolic effects that consuming a pint of Bunny Tracks ice cream had on me. 😉
What if you have fresh fruit instead of frozen? Could you run it through the processor and then freeze it or would that make it totally different?
cut your fruit, zip lock it, then freeze it
Yes – I made this tonight and used strawberries instead of peaches and I used lactaid milk instead of almond milk and it was perfect 🙂
Oh my! That looks heavenly. I mixed in some peaches with a banana soft serve I made last week and that added just the right amount of peachy flavor for me as well.
Megan do you think this would work if I swapped out the peaches for the same amount of frozen strawberries?
Also any update on when your cookbook is coming out? I can’t wait!!! 🙂
Can I freeze fresh white peaches for this recipe?
Peach ice cream – i would never had thought of that but i bet it is really refreshing. My favourite is plain vanilla and I have yet to create a real food diary free version of it so fruit flavours will have to do for now:)
Hi! There are some fabulous almond milk ice cream recipes out there. I make mine with a cup of almond milk, a pinch of salt, a dash of vanilla and a couple tablespoons of the sweetener of your choice. I will then pour the mixture into an ice cube tray, freeze it and once frozen place the cubes in the food processor or the blender. Occasionally I will add an additional splash of almond milk to get it mixing but then it whips up to a great mock ice cream.
Looks amazing! Do you have to peel the peaches?
if you like the skins , go for it ! Throw in the seed if you want to , but they do contain arsenic , and it will break your blender !
This looks fantastic! My favorite to buy are chocolate and pb ice cream combos, but the best ice cream I ever had from scratch was my great uncle’s peach ice cream! Second to time with family themselves, of course, it was one of my brother & I’s favorite things about our summer visits to Mississippi! So, your recipe brings me back, too :0).
This is incredibly good! Made it in five minutes and everyone loved it!
this looks so refreshing and yummy 😉 i’ve tried the banana and PB ice cream but gosh this looks good!
Not sure where to post this but, I’ve just moved to Mexico and had to leave my beloved thermomix behind 🙁 I am looking at buying a food processor or vitamix (from the recommended products), what does everyone use to make megan’s food? Is the food prcessor enough? The vitamix is quite a bit more but since I’m planning on living here a few years hoping I ould get some thoughts. I like to make smoothies, nut butters etc. Thanks (you can’t post on the products page so thought I might be able to get some help)
vitamix… i live in the caribbean and the only time i ever miss or need a food processor is to crush up dates and nuts or other sticky and crunchy stuff to make pie crust substitute… but that was one time in the last 3 years since i got my beloved vitamix and the new ones are even better!
I love this recipe. I have 3 grand kids &:1 is on a,Celiac diet. We’ve made it with Frozen Radpberries,, plus once with frozen Bananas. All a big hit. Peach was the fav. I love my Vita mix & since on counter made it in it. To answer your question yes Vita mix is expenses machine but worth every penny. It makes hot soup in winter with fresh veg & broth. I use it daily for protien shake. Do not think a day goes buy that I do not use it. I had mine for 3yrs., Love, love it. I bought mine at Cosco & also bought grain grinder as make my own Buckwheat breads. Vita Mix Blender is the best. Have had other Blenders but we’re never the work horse in my kitchen like this machine. Check it out on Vita mix Website. Everything they say it does awesome.
Ninja blenders are even better.
I have a vitamix and love it. Very versatile. Only thing I use. Don’t use a food processor.
Yum! This sounds perfect for summer – I live in GA and happen to have some frozen peaches. Quick question: for the coconut milk, do you use from a carton or a can? Thanks! can’t wait to try. Love your recipes – the raw brownie bites are a favorite. 🙂
I can’t believe I can finally make ice cream that is dairy free and gluten free with a food processor!
Thank you so much for your recipes! You truly are an ispiration to us all, especially me. I have celiacs and vertigo problems, which makes me bed bound, but I always look through your site for healthy inspirations, thank you again!
Oh, and I love strawberry ice cream =)
This is such a perfect and simple summer recipe! I make a similar recipe using strawberries and it is the perfect way to beat the summer heat! I am excited to try your delicious version with peaches!:)
Great recipe! Do you ever use stevia for a sweetener in ice cream?
No, I don’t use stevia anymore, but I do have some recipes in my Candida cleansing recipe section that use stevia as a sweetener. I used to use it to make avocado “milkshakes.”
Hi Megan, just curious as to why you don’t use stevia anymore?
It seems to affect my hormones, and I don’t get my period when I use it. So, it’s off my menu until I’m done having babies!
looks great! we shared a peach ice cream with nut butter and frozen peaches 😉 love peach ice cream and love how using frozen fruit can make such quick and healthy ice creams!! xo
Can I make this in the Nutribullet?
What was the reply to the question on the Nutribullet
I Have a nutribullet. I made it tonight. It was great
I think I’m going to give this a try. I love ice cream but I can’t really have dairy (although I probably have it more than I should) so any recipe for ice cream that doesn’t include any dairy is great for me!
P.S. I wish we were having a hot and humid summer here. It’s been abnormally cool all summer long 🙁
This recipe is so flexible and incredibly yummy!Sometimes we leave out the honey because the fruit is so sweet on its own. We made blueberry and it was great!
what an awesome recipe. wish it was hot enough here to justify having ice cream.. shame its winter in australia as i am so craving a scoop!
I love making quick soft serve recipes with frozen fruit and almond milk like this! Peaches are abundant right now too — might have to freeze some and try this recipe.
I just made this tonight. I had frozen mangos on hand. It was perfect. Thank you.
Thank you for your amazing receipt I can’t what to try it with my kids 🙂
Did you use canned coconut milk or the regular kind you drink? I’m guessing the regular kind since you said you could substitute water. Would canned coconut milk make it too think? I have just discovered your website as we’ve begun a new journey to eating as unprocessed and natural as we can. I’m excited to have found you!!
Wow….my husband made this for me and his family who were visiting yesterday, and I had also bought “regular” ice cream as a back up, just in case. Well, I didn’t need the regular ice cream, no one touched it. Even my three year old nice said that this was “the bestest ice cream” she ever had. Thanks for sharing this recipe! It’s a keeper. 🙂
Technically, in order to be called ice cream, it has to contain 10% milk fat. So there’s no such thing as dairy free ice cream. It would be considered a frozen non-dairy dessert
David, just go with the flow…………. in a woman’s world, if it is low calorie and low whatever else, we can call it “ice cream” if we want! K?
Lol! Exactly
Yes! It was great!
This looks delicious! Thank you for posting! :). 🙂
I don’t have a food processor. Can this be done in a blender? On what setting, I wonder? Please advise. Thank you.
Omg, delicious! Now I know what to do with some of my frozen peaches, other than peach cobbler! Thanks for sharing!
WOW… I LOVE PEACH ICE CREAM, AND I HAVE A VITA-MIX I AM GOING TO TRY TO MAKE IT IN!!… THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THE RECIPE! ALSO SEEN WHERE YOU CAN SWAP THE PEACHES AND USE STRAWBERRIES, SO GOING TO TRY BOTH OF THEM, AND BY THE WAY, I HAVE NEVER MADE ICE CREAM IN MY VITA-MIX BEFORE, BUT KNOW IT CAN BE DONE!… CAN’T WAIT TO TRY IT!… MARYJO … 🙂
This looks so delicious! I’m definitely going to give this ice cream recipe a try!
What can be used as an alternative to honey for this recipe so that it becomes vegan. Thank you
Maple syrup would probably work!
agave syrup would work – it’s from a plant.
I used 3 top of Pyure.
Can you use fresh peaches in this recipe?
Thank you for the recipe! I’m going to add raspberries next time. This time I added a little ginger and cinnamon – forgot the nutmeg but it’s delicious!
Do you put the coconut milk in fridge before?
I don’t usually. When the coconut milk touches the frozen peaches it will firm up instantly, helping the ice cream thicken with a creamy texture.
This looks really good and easy to make. Love everything peach.
You may use honey if you choose, but it is NOT healtful, nor is it Vegan. Bees don’t make honey for humans, and it is the highest thing on the glycemic index! Bad for the teeth, as well!
Lemon juice is also bad for teeth.
Just made this with my kids and we loved it! So refreshing and delicious!
Delicious! I didn’t add sugar because the peaches (surprisingly) already had sugar added. Great with the coconut milk.
This ice cream was really delicious! Left the skin on peaches and added more honey.
Greetings. This recipe looks great. Could I use unfrozen peaches instead and then put the mixture in my Cuisinart ice cream maker? I am making peach jam tomorrow and plan to use any sliced peaches to make ice cream
Yes, I think it would probably work well in an ice cream maker, too! I’d love to hear how it goes for you.
Made this tonight – it was so easy to make and it is delicious!!
This was delicious and incredibly easy to make. Easy to eat the whole thing by yourself!
OMG! Made this and it’s sooooo good! Refreshing!
