This Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce is a delicious dairy-free sauce that you can serve over your favorite pasta or veggie-based noodles, like the sweet potato “noodles” pictured above. (I use a spiralizer to make them easily!)
It’s naturally vegan and paleo friendly, and since it comes together quickly in a blender, you can modify the ingredients as you go to make it taste exactly the way you want it to. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Roasted Red Pepper “Cream” Sauce
makes about 2 cups
Ingredients:
1 cup steamed sweet potato chunks
1 cup nut milk (or non-dairy milk of choice)
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 cloves raw garlic
1 roasted red pepper
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
Directions:
Throw all ingredients into a high-powered blender, like a Vitamix, and blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasonings to taste.
*If your sweet potato is freshly steamed, be careful when using the blender– the steam pressure can make the lid pop off! I recommend using very cold nut milk, to cool it down a bit.
Serve over your favorite noodles, and enjoy!

I made this last night and it was amazing! After two bowls, the realization that I didn’t have more zucchini to spiralize for a third made me sad (it was that tasty). To make the recipe even more simple/quick than it already was, I blended with raw red pepper. I also added crushed red pepper flakes for extra flavor. This sauce is a winner and my new go-to!
Megan, this is another winner! I made this today using roasted yellow and orange peppers (what I had on hand), and it was SO delicious! I cannot believe how creamy and flavourful it is, with such simple, healthy ingredients! Thank you so much!
I don’t understand the roasted “red pepper” sause but there are no roasted peppers in the recipe? Is it a mistake? I only see roasted sweet potatoes. ??
It’s the second to last ingredient in the recipe– it calls for 1 roasted red pepper.
Hi and thank you for all you do. I so enjoy your cooking talents. ? can u suggest a substitute for Roasted red pepper in the cream sauce ? Allergic to bell peppers. Would like to use this sauce with sweet potato noodles.
Roasted tomatoes would probably be delicious as a substitute.
Is this hearty enough to enjoy as a soup? Or what could I do with it to have a grainfree dinner? Open to any ideas you may have to share:) Maybe tossed with cooked veggies?
is there a reason I can’t print the recipe?
